The Most Important Things about Dining at Disney World
I hope you are enjoying our planning course. After creating a budget and selecting a resort, the next piece of the puzzle is dining. What a subject!
For many of us, dining is an integral part of a Walt Disney World vacation. We daydream about silly things like dipping a Mickey-shaped pretzel in faux cheese sauce as we wait for the afternoon parade at Magic Kingdom.
Or maybe your dream is to savor an ice-cold treat in the intense heat, like a Dole Whip or Mickey-shaped ice cream bar. I get it.
Others might plan elaborate dining reservations at places like the California Grill or the Brown Derby. Ooh la la, that’s my kind of night out on vacation!
So here are the important dates you’ll want to know when it comes to making reservations at table service restaurants.
- Guests with a Valid Disney Resort Hotel Reservation can make reservations for the entire length of stay (up to a 10-night stay) up to 60 days before your arrival!
- All Other Guests: Make reservations up to 60 days in advance. (If you’re staying off-site, you must do this day by day.)
- At approximately 6:00 a.m. daily, new reservation booking windows become available for select Walt Disney World restaurants. (EASTERN Time)
Since planning a Walt Disney World vacation involves so many important aspects, we recommend reading our Walt Disney World Dining Handbook. This guide covers everything and links to more in-depth subjects that might interest you.
We have a couple of more lessons in our dining section. If you are placing an emphasis on dining during your vacation, you’ll probably want to browse each lesson, at the very least. However, if you are not interested in a specific topic like the dining plan or fine dining, you might prefer to skip those lessons.
This course, as you’ve probably figured out by now, has a ton of information. So I always like to remind our readers that you’re planning a vacation that’s perfect for you! Please don’t feel like you have to go in-depth on each lesson in the dining section if something doesn’t apply to you.
That said, I would like you to read the next lesson: How to Use Mobile Order Service at Disney. (Even if you’re a little old-fashioned like me, I think I can convince you of why you need to use this service and how to practice using it before your vacation.)
